18th September 2021:

Glan Agua informed the Kiltiernan Group Water Scheme, on Saturday the18th September that the quality of the raw water has deteriorated again. It had improved during the previous week.
Since early June there has been a deterioration of the raw water entering the treatment plant .As a consequence of this, process adjustments meant that the plant chlorine levels were increased in order to maintain a free chlorine residual leaving the reservoir. These events occur after heavy rain and last 7 to 10 days. Glan Agua are mitigating this by running the plant more frequently and for shorter durations.
There was a sample of treated water tested for bacteria from the network on Thursday  and the result was clear. We are awaiting the result of a chemical analysis test.
